Asia Argento was born in Rome, Italy, into an extended family of actors and filmmakers. Both professions she's been pursuing. The actress made her debut at the age of nine years old, in Sergio Citti's Sogni e bisogni (1985). She had a leading role as Cristina Comencini in her first film Zoo in 1989. Michele Soavi directed The Church 1989. In the following year, she was Nanni Moretti's daughter in Red Wood Pigeon (1989) (also directed by Moretti). Close Friends (1992) by Michele Placido (both writer and director) is where Asia really began to become a household name. The film let her progress from roles that were primarily young females to more sophisticated adult character. The film was well-received at the Cannes International Film Festival. The film, Trauma (1993) it was the first time she was the first to work with her father, famed Italian horror director Dario Argento (her mother is among the most beloved actors of Argento, Daria Nicolodi, playing an anorexic girl in search for her parents' killer. The Phantom of the Opera is the third time she has collaborated alongside her dad. The others are Trauma as well as The Stendhal Syndrome. Giuseppe Piccioni's Condannato A Nozze showed Asia's absorption style in playing. She played Arianna in the film Perdiamoci by Carlo Verdone di vista. The role was which was so complicated that she received the David di Donatello prize for the best actress. Patrice Chereau was her director in Queen Margot, where she played a prominent role. In 1995, Asia collaborated with Michel Piccoli to produce Peter Del Monte's Traveling Companion, for which she was awarded a David di Donatello. Asia started directing in the year 1994 when she made two short films: Prospettive (1996), an account of her father's life, and Abel/Asia (1998), a film about the cult filmmaker Abel Ferrara. The latter received an award from the Rome Film Festival. The year 1999 was the year that Asia made her feature-directing debut by directing Scarlet Diva (2000), where she acted as the leading actress and author for the script. It came out on the 20th of May on the 20th of May in Italy as well as the rest of world. The film won an award at the Williamsburg Film Festival in Brooklyn, New York. Anna Lou was born in 2001 after she directed a few music videos. In 2002, she starred as Jean-Marc Barr's co-star in The Red Siren (Olivier Megaton) as well as Vin Diesel was the star of Rob Cohen's thriller action The Action. The short stories of Asia have been featured in prestigious publications.
